Outlook Mission Bay Project Update 3

The piling rig has arrived!

The team from Hauraki Piling rolled on to the site last week, preparing for the install of the soldier piles that will retain the perimeter of the basement car park at Outlook Mission Bay.

Once set up, the foundation engineers launched into their work and managed to complete most of the Eastern boundary by the weekend.

It’s impressive to see the co-ordination between piling rig and crane, the former drilling the holes and the latter placing the steel reinforcing cages in place for the concrete to be poured.

From here, the team will continue around the perimeter, retaining the boundary so that bulk excavation of the basement can begin. We can’t wait to see the big hole start to be excavated soon!
